Developing and strengthening training opportunities
Participation in VET Development Symposium in Windhoek, Namibia
From 23-08.25.2016 forty experts of Vocational Education and Training (VET) from 18 countries from five continents discussed on viable Training for Sub-Saharan Africa. The VET Development Symposium took place at the University of Science and Technology (NUST) in Windhoek, Namibia and was organized together with the University of Rostock and funded Volkswagen Foundation.
Nicolas Schrode presented development- and professionalization possibilities for Vocational trainers and HRM specialists in Germany and presented the qualification pathway reaching from the AEVO (regulation of suitability of trainers) over the Professional of Human Resource Services Management, the Professional of Vocational Training to the Master of In-Company Vocational Education/ Adult Education in whichs development we had supported the Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences (project BP@Kom, phase II).
Important questions in the Symposium was, how a high-quality vocational training in the participating countries can look like and from which aspects from different models could be learned. And how qualification for training staff can be shaped usefully and in high quality. The Namibian state television station NBC reported as well as national newspapers.
